It happened again last night.
Only 6 hours of sleep. SIX HOURS. That’s it.
And my body feels so incredibly rested that I can’t even begin to explain it. But, I think I know why.
Today is Wednesday morning, and it’s shaping up to be the best day ever. I just got back from the Longevity Conference in Costa Mesa California after having one of the most amazing times of my life.
The information rocked. Cutting edge stuff. A guy named Paul Stamets showed us how mushrooms can save the world, and Dr Joe Mercola laid the smack down on high fructose corn syrup like it was nobodies business (which, after his holy crusade through healthcare is done, probably won’t BE a business anymore).
But that was only a small sliver of awesomeness that went down.
For me, the weekend was most certainly about the people. I’ve never been to any of these things before in my life. In fact, I had no idea who David Wolfe was before I got involved in marketing for him in mid Feb 2010.
And honestly, I had no idea what I was getting myself into.
There’s a whole community built around health and longevity. I was now tossed in head first. And the people…the PEOPLE are what made it magical. So much like me that I felt at home.
And the people had lots and lots of invaluable insights into some of the worlds most incredible super health technologies I had ever seen. This wasn’t your average convention of pharmacists. No, it was the exact opposite. The technologies they shared were geared towards ACTIVELY super charging your body for superior health…not waiting till you get sick and pop pills until you die miserable and alone.
What a paradigm shift.
Anyways, one particular piece of technology really sparked my interest. It was something that I had gotten wind of from my good friend Larry Ostrovsky – the marketing mastermind behind David’s entire “Experience Longevity” company.
It’s called “grounding”.
The concept is simple. We live in a day and age where we are constantly being bombarded with extra radiation and EMF outputs. Static. The bad stuff.
And we, whom are electrical beings, take on this extra energetic charges into our body, leaving them to bounce around our energetic meridians like a renegade pinball.
Not healthy, not good for us. It’s the equivalent to charging two dozen balloons with static cling and letting them go in hair salon. Or even worse, putting a hotel key card in your pocket next to your cell phone and frying it out. (Hint – think about what it’s doing to your leg, hips and thighs…)
(Note – That actually happened this weekend. The whole card/phone thing that they always warn you about at the bell desk ACTUALLY happened. No joke.)
Now, this grounding technology stuff is a very very easy way to flush this stuff out of your energetic system while being in doors.
Just like going for a barefoot walk on the beach. Or in the park. The CONNECTION to the earth energetically dumps out the bad electrical charge we’ve absorbed from such EMF spewing technologies we have today. That’s why going outside and being barefoot in the grass feels so damn good.
Now, you can get the same exact effect while staying inside. And, especially sleeping.
The geniuses over at Barefoot Connections have created a way to tap into the electrical ground of the plug in your house through cable wiring, silver weaving, and various ways to attach this electrical ground to your body.
In my opinion, the sheets are the best. You get to SLEEP with a direct connection to the earth. That means, all those yuky energetic polutants that are usually festering in your body and blasting through your system all day long are dumped out for as long as you’re at rest.
And the results are instantaneous. Not only the sheets, but with everything. We even had a ground hooked up to our car when driving back from Costa Mesa to Las Vegas. But that’s another story
When we got home last night, it was only after my first night of using grounding technology to sleep with. Night 1 was highly restful. Upon getting home, I shared this technology with my good friend John.
Luckily, I had just bought a new Flip Cam (the slick new upgraded version with so many bells and whistles that I get excited every time I pick it up) and was able to capture a little impromptu test on an outsider’s opinion of this crazy wacky new grounding stuff that I just brought home out of nowhere.
Here, check it out:
As you can see, John was clearly not ready for this “interview” and was caught off guard. But, that’s where you get the most honest feedback ever. Risk for me? Sure. But at this point, I’m sold on this stuff and know its effective.
So anyways, night 2 was a total success as well. Woke up at 7am feeling like a million bucks.
Now, only time will tell to see if this stuff keeps making me feel awesome. I’ll check in again about it soon

This is awesome! Thank you so much for sharing. Love Mercola. High-fructose corn syrup and I broke up about 3 years ago. The morning fuzzyheadedness disappeared.
Has anyone told you what a great writer you are?
Keep it up rock star!

Interestingly enough, in my lab we work while grounded via wrist grounding straps. The idea is to prevent any static built up in our bodies from damaging the sensitive circuitry in our products. The grounding strap is connected to the stainless steel worktop, which is grounded to earth.
I like the idea of working connected to ground (for example – your friend here is at a computer being bombarded with energy) but as for sleeping… I can’t see it having a huge effect having constant contact to earth ground unless you are building static (etc) while sleeping. Which is possible now that I think about it, between rolling around in your sheets and if you have tons of electronics on in your proximity.
I discharge nearly 30,000 volts off of my body daily simply by touching a door knob. This is evidenced by the spark that leaps nearly 2 inches from my finger to the door – for current to cross an air gap of multiple inches, you’re talking potentials of tens of thousands of volts. So it’s like a capacitor – you store all this energy in your body by carrying around all of these stripped electrons. Then bang, you connect to earth, and it all goes down the sink and you return to neutral. It’s rather instantaneous, so a constant connection would only help prevent anything from building while you are connected. So maybe that’s the point of doing it while sleeping.
All in all, I can say that the science is right. This definitely will drain off any polarity you may be acquiring during the day. On the other hand, so will simply touching anything conductive that has a larger charge capacity than you. Connecting a blanket or a pad to the grounding spike in your home is cute. I like it!
I’d like to investigate these products further, because I envision some people who produce them might be complete hacks and actually end up creating a very highly resisted circuit in the pad (very little current) which gives you a very low level tingling sensation. If the plug does plug into the wall and connects to power in any way shape or form, I’d call it a hack. It wouldn’t be dissimilar to the ancient Egyptian lead acid batteries that were supposed to invoke a “feeling of God.” A simple test with a multimeter would reveal whether or not this is a true grounding product or some bull crap shock therapy device masquerading as grounding technology.
Oh… before I go eat some home made pancakes… a warning about grounding to an electrical outlet in older homes. If you electrical has not been updated, YOU MIGHT NOT HAVE A PROPER GROUND IN THE OUTLET. Older style homes, say from the 50s or so, with metal sheath BX wiring use the metal encapsulation as a ground carrier. It needs to be strapped properly to the metal receptacle enclosure. There’s plenty of free literature online how to check the grounding of your outlets, so look it up before plugging away randomly. Otherwise, you may think you are hooking up to earth ground but in reality you could be jacking your body into the power utility.

The plugs go straight into the grounded part of the socket, nothing else. There is a tester that comes with the kit that will determine the grounding capability for each outlet.
I’m currently using a grounding pad in my office which is like an EMF orgy of doom. I find that I can sit for longer w/o getting agitated nearly as much.
You’ve been an electrical engineer for years and I know you know WAY more about this than I do, so your input is def the best I can personally get. As far as sleeping goes, it seems to be stiller. How long does it take for static and radiation to dissipate from your body once you’re grounded? I feel like it depend on how much its built up.
But that’s what I feel internally, not what’s been scientifically proven.
Would love to know what you think!
Great stuff man! HFSC is definitely the devil. I’ve been following the stuff on EMFs but I’m not sure if I believe it is as dangerous as people say. There is a lot of anecdotal reports of the negative effects of EMF, but are you aware of any empirical studies done on the negative effects of EMF, or anything published in a scientific journal?
Adam,
I agree, the Longevity Conference was great and the products for living a better, healthier life are awesome. You seem so energized in this video!
Nothing like an off-the-cuff, honest interview/testimonial to tell it like it really is. Thanks for sharing.

Adam,
I’m glad that the kits ONLY go into the 3rd hole (giggity) and they come with a tester to check the home.
Thankfully for us humans, an electrical charge on your body dissipates faster than you can really feel with your senses. It feels “instantaneous” – the charge drain usually takes place over a span of a few nanoseconds. Think of a static shock. When you get a static shock, your polarity has shifted in the time it took for that shock to “happen.” If you were still charged, then touching something with a large charge capacity (like a door knob, your car, or a conductive earth ground) would shock you AGAIN. Sometimes this does happen though, we’ve all been there. Bottom line, your polarity changes at the speed of electricity once you become grounded.
However, staying grounded while exposed to a constant influx of energy is probably a good idea if you assume that grounding does in fact have these positive benefits. If carrying this charge really is bad for you, then I can’t imagine charge/discharge cycles being very good either. You’d probably be better off just staying grounded as much as possible to avoid a high charge quantity.
I’m going to link to this once I get my blog running again… I took it down after I quit running for legislature back here in CT lol
